RACING TO BEAT CANCER

 Dear Otters and Parents,

First off I want to thank the Parents and Coaches for stepping up and keeping the program running smoothly while I have been gone. I want to thank the swimmers for doing such a great job in working hard during their practices. I have heard many stories of swimmers that have shown an improvement in work ethic and determination in practice. I know it will continue.

Congratulations on the Swims on Monday, December 14th and wish you luck on swimming great again, on Monday, December 21st.

I have just completed my first round of Chemo at Methodist and am still in the hospital. The Chemo treatment went well, but I had some major complications that may or may not be related to the treatment. I am working hard everyday to beat this horrible disease into remission. With the help of Paula, my children Megan, Haley and Jon, my family, my friends and the well wishes of the Otters and other swim teams, it has kept my spirits up. The awesome doctors, nurses, aides and hospital staff are helping me beat this.

Please remember to donate to our family in need box, to help other swimmers on our team. Remember the meet Monday December 21st and parents night out, Tuesday December 22nd, at North. Scott will be sending more information about winter practices and more. If you would like to be part of the team and finish up with us in February, we would love to have you start right after Christmas break.

MOST IMPORTANTLY, I want to wish everyone of our family members, the healthiest and happiest Christmas and New Year.

With all my love,

Lonny
