Meet Schedule

Use this link to find our meet schedule, which includes one Saturday dual meet and only two away meets. Please add the meets to your calendar since we plan on every swimmer being in every meet unless we hear from you; please let us know ASAP if you will not be at one of the meets. Parents, also start thinking of which meets you will be volunteering and which jobs you would like to be working.

Costs for Winter 2015-16

$75 payable to DMPS at the beginning of the season in October and again in January. Please make arrangements to pay as soon as possible.

There is an additional (one time winter season) $35 fee to NSST to help defray team expenses; the fee includes: sweatshirt, conference fees, swim cap, and end of the season awards.

Please write two checks, $75 made out to DMPS and $35 made out to NSST.

If you are interested in purchasing a team suit, the cost will be $35 for female suits and $25 for male suits. Please make checks payable to NSST. There are other items throughout the year you may be interested in purchasing. There will be sign-up sheets as these items become available.

There are a couple of new and exciting things happening this season.

New Calendar

We have added a new Google Calendar feature to This calendar will be kept updated with the latest information about specific practice days, as well as meet warm up times and start times. This calendar can be added to your own Google calendar or even synced to your smart phone calendar.

New Events

As a conference we are adding some new events to our meet schedule. This only effects the 13 & Older swimmers, who will have 4 new events to pick from this year.

The new events are the 50 Backstroke, 50 Butterfly, 50 Breaststroke, and the 100 IM. This means that everyone 9 years old and older will have the opportunity to swim 50s of each stroke and all swimmers will be able to swim a 100 IM.

This does change the numbering of the events a little bit so we will have to pay a little more attention to what numbers you are swimming this year.

Masters Swimming

For any parents or former swimmers who are interested in swimming, our Masters Swimming program has started and will run through the week before Thanksgiving. If you are interested please take a look at the NSST Masters Swimming website at

Wall of Fame

Another exciting piece of information I would like to share with you involves our legendary coach Lonny Kerman. For those of you who don’t know, Coach Kerman had two different, very successful terms as the Head Coach of the North High Women’s swim team. Due to his success and dedication to the North High School Women’s Swimming program for almost 40 years, he has been nominated and voted into the class of 2015 North High School Athletic Wall of Fame.

I would like to invite all of you to attend the North High School Varsity Football Game against Council Bluffs Lewis Central on October 2, 2015, when Coach Kerman will be officially inducted into the Wall of Fame.

The game will start at approximately 7:30pm and be played at Grubb Community Stadium on North High Schools campus. Admission to the game will be $6 for adults and $4 for kids. The Athletic Wall of Fame presentation will talk place at half time.

We would love to have a large contingent of current and former Otters and North High School swimmers. Please tell everyone you know to come to the game and support Coach Kerman.

Lonny’s Return!

Lonny will be coming back to help this fall. His 4 month retirement will be coming to an end November 1st.

If you have any other questions, please let me know and I will get you the answers. I look forward to having another awesome season with all of you and can’t wait for it to get started
