The North Side Otters swim team won its 21st Two Rivers Conference championship this winter. The Otters had 153 swimmers sign up for the meet and everyone showed up. They claimed medals in 80 of the 86 races, winning 48 of them and breaking five conference records and nine team records.

David Carey, Andrew Gamble, Matt Renze, Matt Schwarz and Faith Sheets each won all four of their races, while Phillip Doan, Sophia Hostetter, Carter Lane, Eric Markham, Juliette Sanders and Sean Sheets each won all but one.

The following swimmers medaled in all of their events: Anna Burriola, Gabe Carey, Corbin Faidley, Jonathan Hahn, Jessica Jensen, Alex Johnson, Nick Johnson, Kreyton Lane, Rebecca Naughton, Jack Nedved, Lilly Nelson, Jack Ode, Breazi Preston, Colton Preston and Megan Russell.

Swimmers who broke NSST Otter records were: Faith Sheets, 8 and under, 25 free and 25 back; Philip Doan, 8 and under, back; Sophia Hostetter, 9-10, individual medley, 100 free and 50 breast; Matt Renze, 11-12, 50 fly; Breazi Preston, 13-14, 100 breast; and Jonathan Hahn, 13-14, 50 free. Conference records were claimed by Hostetter in all three events and Sheets and Renze in one event each.

The following swimmers had outstanding season attendance: Britt Gleason, Emma Hasting, Eliana LaBresh, Joella LaBresh and Torrin LaBresh, who did not miss any practice this year, and Joey Dohrmann, Michael Ellison, Jaedyn Gill, Aidan LaBresh, Keirran LaBresh, Lilyanna Lopez and Amya Marshall, who only missed one day.

Swimmers can practice their strokes, turns and starts at the NSST Otters stroke clinic that begins May 13. The clinic will be held Monday, Tuesday and Thursday.

The summer swim team begins its season May 28 at the North High School pool. It lasts approximately seven weeks with practice each weekday morning. Most meets are on Monday nights and the conference championships will be in mid-July.
